Astronergy Highlights Commitment to Sustainability at AEF 2024
Astronergy showcased its efforts and results in renewable energy development at Africa Energy Forum 2024 (AEF 2024), at Fira de Montjuïc, Barcelona, Spain, from June 25 to 28.
During this year’s 26th edition of the event which focused on aligning Africa’s energy needs with global sustainability goals, Astronergy actively participated in leadership roundtables and meetings. The company shared its green initiatives and provided insights into the current global energy landscape.
Stelios Antellis, Head of Global Strategic Cooperation at Astronergy, shared during the event that the company has provided a 60MW capacity to the Itimpi PV Power Station project in Zambia. With a planned power generation of over 56 million kWh, this project will benefit the local communities and surrounding areas, enhancing their daily lives and productions.
According to Nature, by 2040, 76% of Africa’s electricity demand could be met from renewable sources, highlighting the urgent need for clean energy solutions. As solar energy is the cleanest and most abundant renewable energy source available, Astronergy will keep providing more reliable and eco-friendly solar products to contribute to global sustainability efforts.
